Not that I find that theory very convincing, BUT...

... all three names are those of a flower. Sure, there are other flower
names for girls, but these are more than just descriptive.

Narcissa alludes to narcissistic, which Narcissa certainly is.

A Petunia is a rather small, unseemly flower, which suits Aunt Petunia
equally well.

The Lily is a beatiful flower with a lot of symbolic background: pureness,
goodness. Think of "the lilies on the field" quatation from the New
Testimony or the fact that the Lily is a popular coat of arms.

As I said, its nothing that would convince me as such, but certainly fun to
speculate about the consequences.
