Punkie,

I like this theory.  I have to agree with you that TR had a 
family...I don't know why, but I've always thought he had somewhat 
of a normal life and then something changed all that.  When I say 
normal, I mean, yes, he still wanted to be the most powerful 
wizard.  But something drastic happened and caused him to go off the 
deep end.  Just my two cents worth, but I wanted to let you know 
you're not the only one that thinks Riddle had children! ;-)
