I love the speculation, but do we have any backup for
this? Hagrid looks pretty nervous when Rita starts
probing into where they come from. The MOM (Magical
Games and Sports Dept.) does give them its imprimatur
after the fact, by including them in the maze, but you
know Ludo. Not exactly big on rules.

Yes, and you have good canon support. Quoting from
memory here: "He knew a lot about unicorns, though it
was clear that he found their lack of poisonous fangs
disappointing."

I also agree with Marina that Lupin's doing a bit of
underhanded one-upmanship in the boggart lesson; even
if one of his motives *is* to give Neville a
much-needed boost, another is probably to cut Snape
down to size. Something wrong with that? ;-)

Wouldn't it be great to be a fly on the wall of the
Hogwarts staffroom? Our one glimpse, in CS, is so
delicious.

WOW! I never thought of that! That's going to be
great. They better not cut it.

Amy "Passive-Aggressive" Lupinesque Z
(for example, notice the way she has padded out two
little canon points with lots of irrelevant blather)
