always got the impression that Harry's broom more or less fell into
the Whomping Willow, not directly down, but continuing its path like
any moving projectile, wizard made or muggle made, would. It didn't
fly on its own. It fell, with style :) "
I don't have my books with me but doesn't Harry's broom get blown into the Whomping Willow by the wind? If so, then this *is* the same as the ski exampls :)
