It is another beautiful day in Theory Bay, the sun sparkles serenly
against the blue waters. . . Things have been a bit quiet the last
few days, and everyone has been content to relax on their
respective ships.
As the morning wears on, a few of the ships' captains notice that
an odd silhouette has appeared on the mouth of the harbour.
The silhouette gradually approaches, albeit extremely slowly,
and begins to come closer towards the other ships
"Well, I'll be", mutters Pippin, from the LOLLIPOPS lifeboat. "It
loks like a catamaran."
Curious to see who this newcomer was, she grabbed her
Omnioculars and took a closer look.
But it wasn't a catamaran at all. Rather, it was an extremely
confused blond-haired man, with one foot on two floating
pontoons, desperately trying to steer both of them towards the
others. Pippin sees the names on the sides of the two boats:
they are the HIDING THEFT and the DOCTOR FLOWER.
Eventually, the bewildered and amateurish captain of the two
boats comes close to where Pippin is drifting.
"Ah, are you right there?"
The captain is taken by surprise, and promptly loses his balance
and slips into the waters of Theory Bay. He quickly clambers
onto the DOCTOR FLOWER, and throws a rope towards the
HIDING THEFT, to prevent it drifting away.
"Oh, I'm sorry," spluttered the captain, to the crowd of ships that
has gathered to scrutinise the newcomer.
"Allow me to introduce myself", he continued, "my name is Roo,
and I've lurked around Theory Bay for quite some time now, but
only recently tried to sail my own ship. Unfortunately, I couldn't
make up my mind which one to take, so I thought I's try my hand
at them both. . . And I'm afraid to say, I'm in a bit over my head"
Someone in the crowd muttered, "Well obviously"
Roo went on: "Would anyone care to help me?"
Pippin replied, "Why don't you explain your ships first?"
"Of course, of course," said Roo, and plunged into his
explanation:
"Well, both of my ships were built around Fleur's comment at
then of GoF, where she says 'I am 'oping to get a job 'ere, to
improve my Eenglish'. Well, this seemed like a pretty decent
foreboding for the future books, so I thought about it more.
Where would Fleur get a job in England? Not at the *British*
Ministry of Magic, unless she was an ambassador of some sort,
and seeing as there isn't much canon to support that theory, I
decided to ditch that. So I thought a bit more. Then I had an
answer: at Hogwarts of course! But would could Fleur teach?
There is going to be a female DADA teacher, but Fleur couldn't
even take care of a Grindylow. So that one seems to be out. And
then I founded the HIDING THEFT: Hagrid Is Dead. Is New
Groundskeeper Trustworthy? Hogwarts Employs Fleur as
Teacher (please note that this theory says that Fleur will only
replace Hagrid as teacher, not as a groundskeeper). Well, first
Hagrid has to die; I won't bore you much with this stuff, except to
say that Hagrid represents Harry's childhood; that is, Hagrid
represents the innocence within Harry in regards to the WW (eg,
Hagrid is the first wizad he meets). As Harry *lost* his
innoncence after the graveyard scene, it makes sense (at least
symbolically) that Hagrid has to be removed somehow, in order
for Harry to develop.
Anyway, back to Fleur. Well we know that CoMC doesn't require
much teaching experience (look at Hagrid), just sufficient
knowledge. Now, there isn't much canon to support Fleur
knowing a lot about magical creatures, but I draw your attention
to two instances in GoF. Firstly, there are the giant Beauxbatons
horses; although this is not connclusive, it would seem highly
likely that if Beauxbatons has such creatures at its disposal, the
students would be quite adept at handling the creatures.
Secondly, and more conclusively, there is the first task. Fleur is
able to entrance her dragon with a single charm, when it took the
combined power of three trained wizards to subdue them. Only
Fleur used a method to *control* the dragon; Cedric and Harry
both distracted theirs, and Krum disabled his. As her only fault
was accidentally been set on fire by a snore, she proved herself
to be quite capable of handling this dangerous creature. So
Fleur very well could become a CoMC teacher.

Just when I had prided myself on this first ship, however, another
one caught my eye: the DOCTOR FLOWER, which stands for:
Death Of Charms Teacher Obligates Replacement. Fleur Leaps
Out as Worthy, Enchanting Recruit. For this to occur, Professor
Flitwick has to die. . . Seemingly unlikely. . However, maybe not.
In CoS, in "The Duelling Club", the Trio is discussing who might
be leading it, and Hermione says, "Somone told me Flitwick was
a duelling champion when he was young". Now Hermione isn't
one to entertain idle, baseless gossip, so it seems that she
believed this claim to at least be possible. Also bear in mind that
Flitwick was patrolling outside the maze in the Third Task,
putting him on par with McGonagall and Moody. So Flitwick
could prove to be a crucial player in Dumbeldore's fight against
evil, so it makes sense that he could be an early casualty, or be
needed somewhere else. Plus Flitwick is just important enough
to provide the necessary emotional ordeal for the characters (if
he dies), but not important enough to warrant too much drama
too early in the series.
Now Fleur is more suited to teach Charms (over CoMC); look at
her performance in the first two tasks. In the first tasks, she used
a very powerful charm on the dragon. And in the second task,
she still managed to get 50% of the available points due to her
"excellent use of the Bubblehead Charm". So her obvious forte is
in charmwork. Combine this with her *natural charm* due to her
Veela heritage, and you have a capable Charms teacher.
Fleur being a teacher in general isn't too far-fetched.
Dumbledore could well want someone with close connections
both with Beauxbatons and France in general. That Dumbledore
said in his end of year speech, "such ties are more important
than ever before", it makes sense that he network as much as
possible. Fleur could provide a link with foreign wizards, who like
Fudge refuse to listen to Dumbledore, but are more likely to
listen ot one of their countrywomen.

And that's the end of my explanation," Roo finished, breathlessly.
He looked expectantly at the crowd gathered around him, then
sat down for a short rest, while the others pondered his theories.

Roo, who is secretly (and desperately) hoping that someone
wants to help with one of his ships.
