Initially this seems to be what JKR is hinting at. . . But why on
earth would she want to go there first? She could be joking of
course, but why wouldn't she answer seriously to a serious
question?
My take on the reply is it is only the *magical* properties that
Harry is so far unaware of; however he is aware of the room
*itself*. We know that Hogwarts seems to possess a magic of
its own, independent of wizard influence ;look at the moving
staircases, plus that would explain all the ghosts and why
Peeves isn't evicted.
So maybe there is a room that *seems* fairly straightforward to
Harry, but actually possesses important magical properties
unbeknownst to him.
Which room cold this be?
Well, I really don't have a strong conviction on one particular
room, but it could be any number of them. However, my favourite
possibilities are:
1) The Gryffindor Common Room: it makes sense that Rowling
would want to go here, given the role it plays in the series. Plus if
it has always been the Gryffindor Common Room , it would
make sense that some significant part of the Gryffindor heritage
would be contained nearby. This works particularly well with the
Heir of Gryffindor theory, as Harry could in his possible role as
heir discover some of Gryffindor's power.
2) The Owlery. The Owlery plays much less of a role than the
Common Room, and thus is only ever really "mentioned", while
the GCR is actually discussed, featured, etc. I can just see JKR
hiding a powerful magical secret in a place that we have all
accepted as being relatively mundane and unimportant
compared to other places.

So what do you think? Have I just misinterpreted? Or is JKR
being manipulative again?
Roo, who is just picturing JK Rowling reading these messages
in a dark, gloomy tower, cackling evilly to herself as we try to
delve into her mind.. .
