There is a way for Harry to be captain and Ron to be on the team, but a
competition/fight will ensue. If Harry chose Ron to be on the team, then yes Ron
would get his glory. However - Ron doesn't like taking handouts. Seeing as how
Ron is sensitive to what people say, I think it would be easy for enough people
to convince Ron that Harry chose him because Harry felt sorry for him. Harry
knows not to give Ron stuff - remember him asking the twins to get him new dress
robes and not tell Ron they are from Harry - but Ron likes playing the victim
and will choose to see it as a handout.

I think Angelina will be captain in book 5. In Book 6, depending on what's
happening in the WW, Harry will become captain. Ron might get some glory by
being chosen by Angelina, and then there can be a competition between Harry and
Ron regarding their Quidditch skills.

As for Ron and the Mirror. The Mirror is simply what he wants - not what will be.
