Am I lost in assuming that there will have to be a new Gryffindor
Quidditch captain this year, and that we may be surprised who it is?
I picked that up somewhere, not sure where, but it got me to thinking.
Who would be most shocking? Someone who isn't a player already? Sure,
but that could be any number of people, including, but not limited to,
Ron, Hermione, Neville (Ha!), etc. How about someone who doesn't play
. . . at Hogwarts

Now me:

I think its about time Ron got a bit of spotlight for himself. I think he'd make a good captain because he's certainly into the sport. On the train to Hogworts, he takes a great deal of time explaining the game to Harry and goes into detail:

>From SS:
"What!" Ron looked dumbfounded. "Oh, you wait, it's the best game in the world --" And he was off, explaining all about the four balls and the positions of the seven players, describing famous games he'd been to with his brothers and the broomstick he'd like to get if he had the money. He was just taking Harry through the finer points of the game when the compartment door slid open...//"

Ron is a captain waiting to happen. He understands the game thoroughly down to the finer points, know his brooms, and already possesses the mind of stradegy: chess games.

I don't think Neville makes the team because he's never been on a broom before coming to school - and he's afraid of it. I'll bet his gran doesn't let him get on a broom between the school years either.

I think the other person who gets on the team is Seamus Finnigan.
>From SS:
"Malfoy certainly did talk a lot about flying....// He wasn't the only one, though: the way Seamus Finnegan told it, he'd spent most of his childhood zooming around the countryside on his broomstick....//"
