All right now, call me an idiot (not really!), but I totally missed the song of the phoenix the first time around in GoF. Of course I was reading really fast so I could find out what was going to happen! Anyway, I was looking for something else and noticed the song of the phoenix (and then completely forgot about what I intended to look for). It could've stood out to me more this time because I just read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in which the Phoenix's song is explained. Anyhow, I'm sure this has all been discussed before since I haven't been around here that long, but I'll ask anyway.

I am operating under the assumption that in order to have a Phoenix's song there must be a Phoenix present. Right? Or I suppose it could be some side effect of two wands with a Phoenix feather from the same Phoenix in their core clashing. But anyway, if there is a Phoenix present, how did he get there? Is it Fawkes? Or another Phoenix? Since FBaWTFT says that the Phoenix can disappear and appear at will, could it have followed Harry? Or am I off on some crazy tangent? Help!
