Of course, the female DADA prof could be, like Lockhart, Lupin, and 
Moody/Crouch, a character not even mentioned in the earlier volumes. 
JKR has displayed considerable fecundity by introducing new 
characters in each new volume so far, and I suspect Book Five will 
prove no exception.

I've always secretly cherished a theory that it is Trelawney, not 
Snape, who has hankered after the DADA professorship, and that it 
will be she, not Figg, DeFleur, or Granny Longbottom who will shatter 
the DADA glass ceiling.
