To me the key element has been what Dumbledore said to Harry when the 
boy wondered if he really should have been put in Slytherin...it's 
about choices.  So far the only role Draco has to play is the one 
given by his father.  It's going to be in the next books that he'll 
be given opportunities to choose more wisely.  I have a feeling it 
will be a last minute decision that pulls him where he needs to be.

I love Darrin's comment about Snape though. Basically we have a 
greasy, nasty, jealous, vindictive 'hero'?  Cool. 

Someone else (sorry I don't remember who) wondered whether Snape 
would be back to teach in OoP - What use is a double agent if not in 
a place where he can gather information - so I think Snape will be 
back - and we'll wonder all over again if he can really be trusted!
