I'm WvB and I'm new here. I've tried to find an answer
in the group archive and in the Alberforth's goat's
search engine but failed. Hope that I'm not asking
something commonly known.

My question considers the pre Hogwarts education. I
think that I've read somewhere that the majority of
the wizarding kids go to usual Muggle schools, where
they study the usual stuff: reading, writing and some
maths. I also have seen somewhere that in the cases
when sending the kids to a Muggle school might be
dangerous (e.g. Fred and George Weasley) they can be
brought to a small wizarding primary schools. However,
such schools are few. As expected I never was able to
find back where have I seen this explanation.

There is also a number of issues that Muggle-borns
have to know prior to Hogwarts. For example, I'm not
sure I'll succeed to write my name with a quill, not
to mention taking notes this way! Do they get extra
classes during the first year?
