Someone, and forgive me but i forget who, recently
posted that it says that Krum was 18 in GoF. I don't
have the books with me at work to look it up, but if
that is the truth it seems almost certain that he is
in his 7th year. You had to be 17 to even put you name
into the GoF. At Hogwarts, the ages break down as
follows:
First years = eleven
Second years = twelve
Third years = thirteen
Fourth Years = fourteen
Fifth years = fifteen
Sixth Years = sixteen
Seventh years = seventeen
This allows room for turning seventeen during your
sixith year...why Angelina could enter her name, as
well as Fred and George complaining about their soon
coming birthday.
But if Krum were 18, he had to have been in his
seventh year of school.
But then again, as its always fun to poke holes in
your own ideas, perhaos they do things differently at
Durmstrang. Or maybe Krum has missed alot of school
due to his professional Quidditch career.
Judging by his affection for Hermione and his good
character (so far!) its seems he would love to come
back to Hogwarts...as a guest, student, teacher,
whatever. As to his joining the team, that would be
harsh on Harry to have to give up his position to a
pro...but maybe Krum can play other positions or Harry
will decide that he had more important things to tend
to...like finding and destroying Voldemort. I guess
we'll see if the book ever comes out.
Kristin- who can't even finish a post before going
back and answering her own questions or refuting her
ouwn thoughts.
