Good point. Let's see...Black retrieved Snape's wand from the bed
right before he and Lupin forced Scabbers to transform.
But later on, after Harry insisted that Peter be taken to the castle
and sent away to Azkaban, Lupin tied Peter up. "But if you transform,
Peter," growled Black, his own wand pointing at Pettigrew too, "we
*will* kill you. You agree, Harry?" (page 376, American paperback).
I guess Rowling was referring to the wand being Black's not because
it was actually his own but because he was holding it.
