I think you're right that Ollivander's going to come back, but I
think you've gone in the wrong direction. Remember, during the
weighing of the wands, Dumbledore & "the expert" were off having a
chat. At that point, Dumbledore knew Voldemort was coming back
(Harry had told him about Trelawney's prophecy), the Dark Mark had
been fired @ the World Cup, Harry's scar had been hurting over the
summer, and a Muggle & a Ministry official had been disappearing.
Oh, and Harry somehow got into the Triwizard Tournament as a fourth
participant. I think it's likely that Dumbledore was in the back,
telling Ollivander everything he knew, so the old wand maker could
start making preparations.

Here is why I don't think Ollivander is evil. They say that
knowledge is power. What was the first thing Ollivander did when he
found out Harry & Voldemort's wands shared a core? He told
Dumbledore. He told Dumbledore something he wasn't likely to find
out until it was too late. Harry hasn't told a single person that
his and Voldemort's wands shared a core. That's something I imagine
Voldemort would have really, really liked to know before he gave
Harry his wand back so they could duel.

Furthermore, I think Ollivander gives Dumbledore a "heads up" on
which students he needs to pay attention to. I'm pretty sure a few
weeks ago, we were discussing cores & decided that a Dragon's Heart
string requires you kill the dragon. Can anyone really imagine
Dumbledore, leader of the Good guys using a wand that killed a
magical creature? At the same time, can anyone out there imagine
Lucius Malfoy, using Dark Magic & killing Muggles w/ a wand that has
a core of a unicorn's hair, the purest creature there is? So I think
the wand selection is a "pre-Sorting Hat" sorting. Into good guys-
unicorn hair, bad guys-dragon heartstrings and could go either way
guys-phoenix feather.
