I noted this last time I reread SS/PS. Which got me thinking about
switching houses.
> Now, is this really a dream of Harry's? Or was it Voldy talking to Harry
using one of Harry's special talents that he's not yet aware of? If it is
Voldy, then changing houses seems to be a possibility. I think it is a
possibility to do so amyway because the Sorting Hat could have put
Could've been just a dream I guess, but still, Harry seems to have a lot of
very real dreams (his nightmares of the night his parents were killed seem
pretty accurate), and it could have something to do with Voldemort. As you
said, if he were to agree to be in Slytherin, I'm sure the Sorting Hat would
comply. He only stayed out because he was pleading "Not Slytherin."
> How about this? Snape started out Slytherin, changed to Gryfindor and
when he got a job at Hogwarts, Dumbledore needed a head of Slytherin house -
so he put the job with Snape who isn't happy about it.
I thought of this the other day too. I was thinking of the ages of the
various heads of houses. We have McGonogall, who's what, 70 JKR said?
Flitwick is rather old, and Sprout's no spring chicken herself. Then
there's Snape, who's around 35. What did he do to get to be head of a house
at such a young age? Because nobody wants Slytherin! So it wouldn't really
matter whether Snape was in Slytherin or not, so long as he'd take the job.
And if he was on "probabtion" with Dumbledore he really didn't have much
choice in the matter. Good point, Grace.
