I decided that I would put out my own thoughts as well so that y'all
could understand why I thought this was an issue.
In the non-potterverse. I had always thougth that a witch and a
wizard were two different tings entirely. A witch was into potions
and herbology divination (to use the familiar terms). They did not
use wands. Whereas a wizard was a sorcerer. He was able to use a
wand (or a staff) and could conjur things, do tranfigurations and
charm work. A warlock was a male witch.
In the potterverse, a wizard and a witch or just the gender term for
the same thing. But she makes mentions of warlocks, so I wonder...
And hags. Again, popular mythology has a hag being an old ugly witch.
in the potterverse, not really sure. But the reason centaurs chose to
be considered beasts was because they did not want to be lumped in the
same group as hags (FBAWTFT).
Any thoughts?
