The more I think about it, the moer probable that he
was in Gryffindor. Earlier on this board, someone used
Sirius' quote of saying Snape ran with a pack of
Slytherins to prove that Sirius wasn't in
Slytherin...(why would he call them that if he himself
were in Slytherin, etc. etc.) But if you think about
it, if Snape was a Slytherin that comment doesn't seem
to fit. It seems as though his running with that pack
of Slytherin was going against something...his house
loyalty perhaps? I think if Snape was in Slytherin,
Sirius' comment would have been different...but the
way he described him as running with a group of
Slytherin's it sounds as if he's implying that Snape
himself was not a Slytherin.
