I think it's a nice theory, but I prefer to think that Snape had a 
run-in with Granny Longbottom in his youth!
Think of how Lupin tells Neville what to make his Boggart look 
like...had the idea a little too quickly IIRC, also Snape took it 
very personally, don't you think?
