New member speaking up. *g*

Doesn't McGonagall tell Hermione that Dumbledore had to pull some strings to
get permission from the Ministry for Hermione to have the Time Turner?  (I'm
at work, so I don't have my books with me to check.)

If that's the case, Dumbledore already knows that there's the possibility of
going back.  Once he realizes that the appeal is useless, might he not have
started planning to have the kids go back at an appropriate time (or maybe
even he himself) and it just happens to coincide with the need to help Sirius
as well?

Just a thought. :-)
