Just to make sure I got this right. 3 first year students, did
something few wizards had ever done, they stood up to Voldemort.
Not only that, but those 3 first year students prevented Voldemort,
the worst Dark Wizard in 100 years, from gaining immortality. All
that being said, you're worried about house points? I would've
given each of them a thousand house points. Dumbledore knew that
Voldemort was going to come back one day. It's likely that a number
of the people in that room were going to one day have the choice
whether or no they were going to stand up to Voldmort. Dumbledore
wanted to show that not only was it possible to stand up to
Voldemort, it was possible to stand up & win. The importance of
house points & the cup pale in comparison.
