And the worst of all - he failed Buckbeak spectacularly. Hermione 
invested so much time and effort, and Hagrid could not get his
emotions in check for 30 minutes or how long his defence speech
was supposed to take?! I so wanted to kick him at this point.
It was very easy to blame the committee afterwards, like he gave
them any chance to decide in Buckbeak's favour.
