I humbly invite you to visit the Harry Potter Lexicon. The word 
comprehensive fits it rather nicely...and it's getting 
comprehensiver all the time.

You'll find name meanings in the Which Wizard section, after many of 
the entries for the characters, and if you check the Resources page 
you'll find listings for web sites that specialize in name meanings 
and go into much more detail. 

The food pages (under Wizarding World => Magical Things) list every 
single types of food item in the books, and there's a wonderful 
essay on the subject as well.
