I'm glad you brought up the character of Figg. Arabella Figg was the 
Dursley's next door neighbor who used to watch Harry when the family 
went out, but she didn't treat Harry in a friendly way. If she is a 
good witch, then why didn't she show Harry an ounce of compassion? 
Makes me wonder what her instructions were.
