Now me:

I don't believe Dumbledore was a young wizard when he defeated 
Voldemort in round one of the battle.  In an interview 
(http://www.comicrelief.com/harrysbooks/pages/transcript.shtml), JKR 
said that Dumbledore is currently 150 years old.  Which would have 
made him approximately 100 years old when Riddle was at Hogwarts 50 
years ago.

That being said, I unfortunately agree with Greg's conclusion that 
Dumbledore's a goner this time.
