You know, I bet if Harry swallowed his pride and walked up to Snape and
said, "Thank you for saving my life in my first year, during the
Quiddich match"

Snape might be rendered speechless, but I bet he would treat Harry with
more respect after that.  He prob thinks the kid is an ungrateful little
spoiled brat who steals his supplies and ignores rules while good people
are trying to protect his sorry, ungrateful little butt.
