I have been following all the posts about the symbolism of the wood
of the wands, and I found it fascinating. According to a web site,
holly (Harry's wand) symbolizes protection, anti-lightning, luck and
dream magic. I don't know about that anti-lighting part, because
Harry does have that lightning scar. Dream magic works: Harry's dream
at the beginning and end of GoF could fit.
Voldemort's wand is made of yew, which supposedly relates to raising
the dead. Any thoughts?
Finally, Lily's mahogany wand is also anti-lightning and mountains? I
am not sure how wood symbolizes mountains, but thats what the site
says.
