Actually, it's Hermione who says that, in PS/SS.  "Gryffindor sounds by
far the best.  I heard Dumbledore himself was in it."  (Quoted from
memory, but that's pretty close.)  Granted, that's not definitive
evidence, but I'm willing to take Hermione's word for it.  How often is
she wrong? *g*
