This POV you're describing is *NOT* third person, omniscient narrator -- that 
was only used in the very first book, in the scenes where Harry is an infant.

The rest of the books are written in third person, *limited* narrator, 
meaning we are limited to what one character, Harry in this case, sees and 
understands.

It's not 1st person POV, but it's not omniscient either.
