Ron would have been a better friend if he had done what Hermione
did. A good friend would tell you what you need to hear, not
what you want to hear. Some of the things Harry did were
incredibly stupid, such as talking to Sirius in the fireplace and
dropping the occlumency lessons. Imagine this:

Hermione: Harry, you just drank an entire keg of beer. Give me
your keys.

Ron: Stop bugging Harry, Hermione; he can make his own decisions.

Which is the better friend?
