Has is occurred to anyone that the relationship between Harry's wand
and Voldemort's wand may not be sheer coincidence? There has been a
lot of discussion about the hint at the end of GoF that Dumbledore
was aware of the protection Harry's blood had given him. If
Dumbledore knew that, I would expect that he would also have known
what happens when two related wands do battle.
Knowing the prophesy, might Dumbledore have commissioned the second
wand using Fawkes' tail feather? It wouldn't be that much of a
stretch to expect that the wand would eventually choose Harry, given
the other links between Harry and Voldemort. This would be simply
once more protection that Dumbledore was able to convey to Harry. I
don't think it has been said anywhere that the two wands were created
at the same time.
