Now me:
It might explain it but I prefer to believe Bellatrix was simply a 
more powerful witch than Sirius was a wizard and a more experienced 
duelist.  
It makes her a formidable opponent for Harry and The Order. Besides 
if we weaken the bad guys we take away from the strength of the good 
guys. 

Mandy, who knows this is off the subject but has a stong desire to 
give credit where credit is due.
