Carol:
She shrieked so loudly that Snape left his office and interrupted his
occlumency lessons to see what was going on. I don't know if she was
terrified of Voldemort specifically. My thought was that she was
afraid of homelessness and unemployment, which might well justify
tears, but the shrieking does seem to suggest that she had grounds to
fear an even worse fate. I do think she would have left, but only
because she thought she had no choice.
