The only time I was really annoyed with Harry is in PoA. How incredibly 
stupid was his second trip to Hogsmeade. And I don't buy the "spur of 
the moment", it was very deliberate planning - Invisibility Cloak, 
saying goodbye to Ron etc. For fistful of sweets indeed.
Practically as stupid as Lupin "near misses" as a student. Must be why 
Lupin saves him from a well-deserved punishment.

By the book four Harry started to run out of excuses why he can't trust 
Dumbledore (or some other teacher) with the things he knows. But know he 
renewed his "licence to conceal" - he trusted "Moody" and look where 
it'd got him.
