EJ:
If you remember in the COS Tom Riddle AKA Voldemort is able to take
control of Ginny Weasley. He does not have a wand, or for that matter
even a body when he does this. He does it through his diary. "So
Ginny poured out her soul to me and her soul happened to be exactly
what I wanted... I grew stronger" and then, "Powerful enough to start
feeding Miss Weasley a few of my secrets, to start pouring a little
of my soul back into her..."
In this way Voldemort has Ginny open the COS, kill roosters, and
write messages on the walls. He has somewhat possessed her and feeds
off of her to grow stronger.
Now that I have written this it gets me to thinking. Now that
Voldemort has regained a body and full use of his powers, will Ginny
be susceptible to Voldemort possessing her again?
JKR says that things happen in book two that we don't realize the
importance of. She also tells us that Ginny will play a bigger role
in book five, so I wonder...
