Harry had been informed by his friends that hearing
voices was not a good thing.
He didn't know he was hearing parseltongue,(he
doesn't even realize he is speaking it while talking
to a snake) so he can't run to anyone and say "Hey! I
heard a serpent speaking in the walls." All he thinks
he can do is confess to hearing voices no one else can
hear. I don't know about you but I'm quite sure I
would think long and hard before confessing that to
anyone.
