Which might one day lead to an annoyed Hagrid shooting down Fawkes because he 
can't stand the bird swooping down to him every over minute ...
Serious, I agree that every founder left something in the hat (now I can't stand 
envisioning Draco pulling a basilisk out of it...). Either that, or they picked different 
methods each - the Chamber for Slytherin, the hat for Gryffindor ... a hidden library for 
Ravenclaw?
