First of all, Draco is school-bully. Only reason it doesn't get all
that bad is Harry Potter having the courage to stand up against him.
Lack of ability to cast unforgivable curse doesn't speak for him
(after all, it's our _choices_ rather than abilities that make us
what we are-- and I agree with Dumbledore on that).

Not a racist, really even with his mudblood comments - Weasley family
gets a share if not _more_ than Hermione. And the Weasleys have long
history of wizards (and only Molly's 2nd cousin is squip living as
Muggle).. he just insults them _all_ as best(worst?) he can.

Then... Harry&co. happen to hear Draco expressing a desire to study
in Durmstrang - to learn Dark Arts, just as well as contempt on
Defence Against them on their way to Hogwarts, 4th year.
Draco's little speech just before the three of them were caught in
the cross of curses-- as I interpret it, he was (in the most
offensive way he could think of) saying that he's on Voldemort's side
and _proud_ of it. Further -- "you picked the losing side, Harry" -
does he perhaps think it's a _game_? That it's fun? That Diggory died
because he was 'on the losing side'?

Evil... if Draco's not yet evil, he's working very hard to become
evil. He's chosen Voldemort's side. Harry&co. chose Dumbledore's.
Harry &co. won this fight, we shall see what happens to the war...
