confident that Harry will not spend much time at Number Four in OoP;
he'll get to Hogwarts somehow. But how?"
<snip examples of pattern in first four books>
"So who will whisk Harry away in OoP, do you think? <snip> What about Lupin?
This might work. Harry trusts Lupin, as does Dumbledore. And best of all,
we'd get to witness the Dursleys confront their first *werewolf.* ;-)"
Now me:
Nah - too warm and fuzzy (no pun intended - hopefully he wouldn't come during
a full moon <g>). I'd *much* rather see Snape be the one to turn up at the
Dursleys. Snape under orders from Dumbledore, in a *really* snarky mood, and
only doing it under *masses* of duress. Completely honked off about having to
do this, but agreeing after being reminded by Dumbledore that Harry's safety
is in jeopardy, and only a really "powerful" wizard can be trusted to keep
him safe, etc, etc, . . .
What I can't decide is whether the Dursley's would be terrified of him, or
*love* him. After all, I imagine they would very much approve of Snape's
general attitude towards Harry - all the insults and points taken away, etc.
But if they ever found out he's actually *saved* Harry's life, I don't think
that would impress them much. <G>
In any case, I think there's a lot of humour potential in this scenario, plus
it might give Harry and Severus a time for some good, old fashioned
"bonding," and speed them along on their road to friendship and mutual
respect. (Awwwwwww). Or not. Anyway, like I said, it has good humour
potential.

(The same Wendy who formerly posted under the e-mail Wynnde1 at aol.com, and who
is making her first post to the list after moving from Scotland to California
last month. And, who does love Lupin, but would still rather be seeing Snape
on page 3).
