Rhiannon the RavenSlyth asked:
Then again, what qualifies as empathy? Is an empathetic
person one who can always see every person's side in an argument? If
so, I don't think there's a single empathetic character in the
Potterverse. Even Dumbledore makes occasional missteps. Can a person
still have empathy if they only have occasional flashes? And can you
feel empathy for people you don't know?
Now me:
I need to point out that my last post stated that evil is a person
COMPLETELY lacking or incapable of empathy. The reason for that theory is
explained in the first post, so I won't go into detail there. Has Draco
shown any instances of empathy in the book? I can't think of any we have
seen, but I love it when people enlighten me. Is Draco, the 15 year old boy
incapable of empathy? Probly not. Is Draco headed in the same direction as
his father? I think so. Is Lucious incapable of empathy? I think so. He
looks out for number one.
