Woah, Falcon, you read *way* too much into that. I was simply
observing the clash between an intelligent, headstrong female and her
(possibly only) male peer who is less impressed than everyone else
with her strengths. Classic character dynamics like this one tend to
the same conclusion, and JKR, being a learned storyteller, will
certainly have picked up on this. It happens all the time! Han/Leia
is an *example*. Harry/Sally is another example. Ron/Hermione is a
*potential* example, but since we don't know how the series with pan
out, it remains a hypothesis and nothing more. (!)

Not alone! Now I don't feel so bad that my very first post ever
garnered such a negative response. I love Star Wars too, but
*whoa*!

I too have known too many Rons in my life not to find his goofiness
endearing. It's the same way with Hermione's bossiness. But
Thalia's 100% correct in that R/H may never happen in canon. In
fact, upon reread it seems to almost lean toward FITD, which is a
very soap-opera-ish concept. And I don't think JKR would ever go
that route. I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

What I love about this group is that we form our opinions based on
what we *think*, not what we hope will happen. (As per the fanfic.)

Cheers!

P.S.- It's easy for me to apply pop psychology to Ron, Hermione, and
Draco, because those architypes have made themselves present in my
life. Harry, however, is harder to nail down. Has anyone out there
ever known a Harry?
