It doesn't hide a group of people, it hides knowledge. From the way Flitwick describes 
the Charm, you could even hide the knowledge in an animal (if one considers animals to 
have a soul) or a baby, which would be unable to surrender the information simply 
because it can't talk properly or otherwise pass it on.

Making two people the secret keepers of each other seems so obviously perfect that 
we think it could not work, since the Potters didn't do it. But people often overlook the 
obvious solution to a problem...
