I really have too much time on my hands today LOL!
I was trying to figure out why Voldemort would bypass Lily and go directly at Harry and I have a few different theories.

1) He wasn't really after James and Lily, but they got in his way. He was only after Harry.

2) Lily is the true heir of Gryffindor and he wanted her for himself. Maybe to merge the two in either a marital form, or in some magical way. Or he wanted something from her to help in his walk towards immortality.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say, it could be because
I'm starving and sleepy. In any case, are you trying to say that
Lily is the heir of Gryffindor; that he's in love with the heir of
Gryffindor; or she is going to give birth to the heir of Gryffindor
and he wants in on the action? lol ;)
