Thoughts on the Marauders Map

I don't think that the map shows only moving people.  It appears to
work interactively with the person using it, something like a wand. 
There are some 1000 people (disputed I know) within Hogwarts and if
90% were static would still show an unacceptably large amount of
information.  Couple this with its ability to show all levels from
basement to top floor means that the information it shows is related
to the person using it and may also be relavent to their business at
hand.  This map comes into the realm of 'things that think but you
can't see where they keep their brain'. (CoS)
