Yes, it really might.
What do we know of Neville's parents in there? They don't recognise 
Neville and they've been under Crucio for a long time. Some think 
they're insane -- but, perhaps in truth they're fighting against 
Imperius Curse like Crouch Sr did?

About St Mungos-- Lucius Malfoy donated a large sum to that hospital 
(a bribe to keep Longbottoms there??)

And how would Harry get out?
Clues: in CoS; Harry takes Polyjuice.
       in PoA; Harry gives Neville's name to the Knight Bus Driver
       in GoF; Crouch Jr got out of Azkaban by changing roles with 
his mother...

Also, Harry might change roles with Neville...

What else would Harry do in St Mungos?
1) He'd had peace and quiet to recover from Cedric's death
2) Have a long talk with Neville
3) Meet Moody who agrees not to reveal Harry's trick. (After Harry 
tells him, too, all that had happened.)
4) Hear that Neville remembers what happened to his parents... 
Neville hadn't been lied to, so he's had more chance to deal with it.
(Stunned/Body-Locked Neville under invisibility cloak, rescued by 
someone with the All-Seeing Eye - Did Moody have that eye back then 
or not? I seem to recall he didn't.)
5)Harry, after revealing how he had always remembered the Green Light 
despite of Dursleys' lies, how he remembers the night-- hears how 
this might mean that he's a true Seer..
6) Many others of St Mungos 'insane' patients are true Seers, put in 
for political rather than medical reasons - much like Harry... 
(Communists used to do that...)
7) By carefully playing with Polyjuice to get their wands, they all 
leave the hospital and join Dumbledore's ranks...
8) They all know the truth of Voldemort, Wormtail and Sirius.
9) Lead by Moody, they go to Diagon Alley and take residence in 
Leaking Cauldron...
