Okay.
Edward Post wrote previously that he thought
Dumbledore could turn into a fly. I'd say that would
be closest to the truth. A fly's buzzing could be
mistaken for a bee's drone to a boy bored of waiting
for finals. Dumbledore means white bee. The reference
of using Rita as someone who turned out to be a
animagi insect would only further point out that
people can transfigure into insects as well as
animals-maybe letting us know Rita could be an insect
is JKR propting us to figure Dumbledore could be too.
Most readers would connect that Dumbledore was not
only Transfiguration teacher but is probably better at
everything all the teachers do!!!( he did defeat a
dark wizard after all(Grinwald)and keep Voldemort at
bay).
Summer also wrote in that digest that she wondering if
Quiurrell had Voldermort 'on him' in the Leaky
Cauldron. I don't think he did, because he touched
Harry ('P-P-Potter,' stammered Professor Quirrell,
grasping Harry's hand..')and Voldermort can't touch
Harry. Quirrel also says that Voldermort was
'displeased with him' when the raid on Gringotts
failed (can't make exact quote as I've just given my
copy to my housemate, whom I may at this very
moment, dear readers, just turned into a Potter
fan!!!!)
The other thing is that Harry observes Quirrell
wearing a large purple turban on his head at the
Welcoming feast. He wouldn't have noticed this if he'd
been wearing it at the Leaky Cauldron.
As to whether the Weasley twins will die, I don't
think they'll perish just for throwing snowballs at
Quirrell's turban. JKR's putting alot on this joke
shop thing they have planned, something's going to
happen through that if it happens at all. It's
interesting she put the snowballs-at-the-turban in as
an off-side happening, but maybe we were supposed to
think about the turban-have it stick in our mind as
being part of Quirrell's description all the time not
just as a nice hat for the welcoming feast. The same
could probably be said for the smell of garlic
desribed in the DADA classroom. It was mentioned that
the smell seemd to be worse around the turban
(prompting rumours it was full of garlic itself). The
smell of garlic is probably the smell of Voldemort's
being. Maybe some of you out there could find a
conection to any other mentions of garlic in the book,
or to the theories that Snape is a Vampire, because it
is mentioned several times that Quirrell has a fear of
everything, but vampires seem to come up the most. I
can't think about this anymore, my brain just went
off-line! Nightie-nite!
