But what about the yelling match that came along with Harry
thinking Hermione had gotten the point much better than Ron?
I just can't see any reason for Hermione choice of words
here, unless she wants Ron to get the point, too.
She was really, really angry, and people who are angry tend
to not think through what they are yelling.
If Hermione didn't "like" Ron, *why* would she ever bring up
"the solution"?
She has a right to be mad at Ron for his behavior, but she
could have just told him that he's stupid, her dating is
none of his business and to leave her alone.
Why say what she did say?
It's about the one thing she should have never thought of
saying if she really doesn't ever want to go out with Ron.
Perfect opportunity to make it clear that he's not in the
running.
And she was too angry to really spare Ron's feelings in this
situation!
I don't believe for a minute that she was mulling all this
over in her head and making plans to be really mean to Ron
by making him think he had a chance (if it's really Harry
she has her eye on) or that she was just blurting random
things, This is way to specific to be just yelled in anger,
if she hadn't secretly thought about Ron asking her to the
ball.
It's just that Ron isn't quite ready ;)
And Hermione seems to be watching him and waiting for him to
grow up some more...
Many of the "ship" arguments for Hermione liking Ron can be
interpreted differently on an individual basis, if one
really tries, but taking all of them into account, plus
JKR's interviews (something's going on..., book4 tells if
Hermione likes Ron as more than a friend) I think there is
just too much there.
