Susanne:
Didn't all this come about from wanting to make the
polyjuice potion?
If yes, then Hermione was definitely the driving force
behind it.
Me:
Actually, the real driving force behind making the Polyjuice Potion was to
find out who was the Heir that was attacking the Muggleborns. Hermione is a
muggleborn and she's the only student who would know of ways to find out the
information they needed.
Susanne:
I remember being very surprised at how badly she seemed to
want to make this potion. Almost as if she wanted to prove she could, and
not only to
help.
I'll agree that it wasn't the boys idea to make the potion. But the boys
did know that Lockhart would be gullible enough to sign a sheet of parchment
without asking questions. It was the fact that Hermione wanted to keep the
parchment when they showed it to Madame Pince. This is where I'm thinking
her *intent* wasn't only to fool Lockhart into signing a piece of parchment.
Hermione *really* wanted to keep that piece of parchment, so much so that
she got into a struggling match with Madame Pince over it.
