JKR ;-)) as potential romantic partners for Harry. They are (were in Sirius' 
case) the shock value type of characters.

I do have to agree with those that say Ginny needs to be fleshed out a great 
deal more before I can see her as a viable partner for Harry.   As it is 
she'd be left in the dust.
