I am not particularly interested in shipping myself, but I do think
that Ginny is a likelier future romantic interest for Harry than any
random female in the books. Ginny is introduced early in the books,
and she is given a detailed background. Undeveloped character, but
certainly a very much established presence in the series. I feel
that according to a certain narrative tradition it makes her a better
candidate for shipping with the hero than female characters like Cho
Chang or Millicent :), of whom we still know next to nothing.
Cheers,
Ana.
