I am not particularly interested in shipping myself, but I do think 
that Ginny is a likelier future romantic interest for Harry than any 
random female in the books.  Ginny is introduced early in the books, 
and she is given a detailed background. Undeveloped character, but 
certainly a very much established presence in the series.  I feel 
that according to a certain narrative tradition it makes her a better 
candidate for shipping with the hero than female characters like Cho 
Chang or Millicent :), of whom we still know next to nothing.
